A survey's type is chosen once, upfront, when you create it — from
Surveys, New survey. It can't be changed afterwards, so
pick based on how you want visitors to encounter the form:
Inline form — embedded directly in your
page's own layout, always visible where you place it. Best for a persistent, low-friction
feedback widget.
Popup form — a floating trigger button that
opens the form when clicked. Best when you don't want to claim permanent page space.
Popup (no button) — the same popup UI,
but with no trigger button — it opens on its own instead. Best for a targeted, timed prompt.
On-site survey — hosted on its own page
on our domain, reached by a direct link instead of embedded on your site at all. Best for surveys
sent out via email, chat, or anywhere else a link can go.
Every type shares the same step/field editor and the same publish requirements around at least one
step with at least one field — see each page for what's specific to that type.
